The much-anticipated Fazl-e-Umar Cricket Tournament witnessed a thrilling display of talent and sportsmanship, culminating in a well-deserved victory for the Palakkad B team. The event, held under favourable weather conditions, saw seamless arrangements from start to finish, Alhamdulillah.
In the first round itself, every team was given the opportunity to play three matches each. Keeping the hot weather in mind, organisers ensured sambaram (spiced buttermilk) was available throughout the afternoon to keep players hydrated. In the evening, watermelon juice and snacks were also provided.
At 9:00 PM, players and attendees offered Maghrib and Isha prayers, followed by dinner. Around 9:30 PM, the matches were temporarily paused to listen to the Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema speech of Huzoor Aqdas. After the speech, the tournament resumed and continued with great enthusiasm until 4:00 AM.
In a closely contested final, Palakkad B team emerged as champions, while the Trivandrum team secured the runner‑up position.
The concluding session featured a prize distribution ceremony.
