A Thrilling Victory

The picturesque village of Mokal witnessed a spectacular week of cricket as the Mokal Tournament concluded with a triumphant victory for Ahmadiyya Cricket Club (ACC), Qadian. The tournament, which ran from April 18 to April 26, brought together 16 teams representing various towns and cities from across District Gurdaspur, turning the rural ground into a buzzing hub of competitive spirit.

ACC Qadian launched their campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating WS Academy in the very first match of the tournament. The win set the tone for what would become a dominant run through the competition. The team displayed exceptional form in all departments—batting, bowling, and fielding—making it clear early on that they were serious contenders for the trophy.

Over eight days of intense cricket, ACC Qadian played a total of four matches, including the final. Their journey was marked by disciplined performances and clutch moments:

The Grand Finale

The final match, played on April 26, saw ACC Qadian face a strong opponent. Batting first, they posted a competitive total, thanks to vital contributions from their top and middle order. The bowlers then delivered a disciplined spell, consistently taking wickets at crucial intervals to restrict the opposition. The victory sparked celebrations among players and supporters who had travelled from Qadian and nearby towns.

Voices from the Team

Speaking after the win, the captain of ACC Qadian Mr Saleh Ahmed said, “This victory is the result of hard work and unity. We came here to win, and every player delivered when it mattered most. Special thanks to the organisers in Mokal for hosting such a well-run tournament.
