Ahmadiyya Youth of Qadian Serves Sangat Sang Pilgrims by Serving Food and Cleaning the City

Qadian: Members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, “Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya,” Qadian local chapter, served pilgrims en-route Dera Baba Nanak, on March 4, 2019, visiting Chola Baba Nanak, a renowned Sikh Pilgrim Center. From early morning “khadim” (members of the Association) set up stalls at various points of the town and served hot and sweet ‘halwa’ to the pilgrims.

Pilgrims cover a distance of about 70 kilometers by foot all the way to Dera Baba Nanak. Gurdwara Sri Chola Sahib Dera Baba Nanak is in the eastern part of the town. The pilgrim center is associated with a “chola”, or cloak, believed to have been presented to Guru Nanak by a muslim devotee at Baghdad. The chola, bearing some Quranic verses and Arabic numerals, arranged in the form of charms embroidered on it, was procured from Baghdad by Baba Kabali Mal, a descendant of Guru Nanak.

The Ahmadiyya youth also cleaned up the streets of the town on the same day in the afternoon, hundreds of  khuddams from all halqas participated in this cleaning drive. The program made a great impression on the pilgrims and residents of Qadian, and many residents and shopkeepers acknowledged the good deed and congratulated the team for their efforts and generosity.
